I'm João Peral, a designer deeply immersed in branding and graphic design. In my role as a multidisciplinary designer, improviser, and creative strategist, I serve as an invited professor at IADE, specializing in strategic and collaborative design. I founded PapagaioLobo, a collaborative design laboratory, aiming to unlock the full collaborative and creative potential of teams and individuals.
My experience includes a stint as the communication director at EMEL (Lisbon mobility company), where I played a pivotal role in growing the GIRA brand (Lisbon bicycles) through a creative approach that transformed the customer experience. I also founded and led the design direction of the Portuguese Playboy magazine, earning recognition from the Society for News Design in New York.
In my advisory role to the Mayor of Lisbon, I contributed significantly to the city's brand and special projects. Outside of my professional endeavors, I've explored diverse interests, ranging from being a young scout, skateboarder, and rugby player to achieving black belt in judo and a blue one in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. As a scuba diver, occasional surfer, and devoted father of four, my experiences shape my perspective in the dynamic worlds of branding and graphic design.
